Our commitment
to CSR

KBE Elektrotechnik GmbH (hereinafter "KBE") is committed to its social responsibility as part of its business activities (Corporate Social Responsibility). These corporate guidelines define what this means for us, particularly with regard to working conditions, social and environmental compatibility, as well as transparency, trust-based cooperation and dialogue. The content of the corporate guidelines is the expression of our values.

Responsible Corporate Governance
1.1 — Responsibility
Holistic consideration

KBE assumes its responsibility by taking into account the economic, technological, social and ecological consequences of its business decisions and actions.

1.2 — Society
Global sustainable development

We voluntarily contribute to the well-being and sustainable development of global society at our sites, within the scope of our possibilities for action.

Integrity & Dignity

We are guided by universal ethical values, including integrity, righteousness and respect for human dignity.

Global application

These guidelines apply to all KBE business units worldwide, without exception.

Value chain

We are committed to promoting compliance with the content of these guidelines also among our suppliers and in the extended value chain.

Section 03
Compliance, Integrity & Communication
KBE respects the applicable laws and regulations of the countries in which it operates. In countries with weak institutional frameworks, we carefully examine good business practices from our home country that could support responsible corporate governance.
KBE bases its actions on universal ethical values: integrity, righteousness, respect for human dignity, openness and non-discrimination. We reject corruption as defined by the United Nations Convention (2003). We favor fair business practices and fair competition, in compliance with competition law.
KBE respects consumer protection regulations and adopts appropriate sales, marketing and information practices. Particularly vulnerable groups (e.g. protection of minors) receive special attention.
KBE communicates openly and in a dialogue-oriented manner about the requirements of the guidelines and their implementation towards employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. Documents are compiled in compliance with the law, properly stored, and business secrets are treated confidentially.

Human Rights

KBE is committed to promoting human rights in accordance with the United Nations Charter of Human Rights (Universal Declaration, Resolution 217 A (III) of 1948).

3.5.1 — Privacy
Protection of privacy

Respect and protection of the privacy of each individual, in accordance with international standards.

3.5.2 — Health & Safety
Safe working environment

Maintenance of occupational health and safety to avoid accidents and injuries.

3.5.3 — Harassment
Employee protection

Protection against any form of corporal punishment and physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment.

3.5.4 — Expression
Freedom of expression

Protection and guarantee of the right to freedom of opinion and expression for all employees.

Working Conditions — ILO Standards

KBE respects the fundamental labor standards of the ILO (International Labour Organization).

3.6.1 — Child labor
Prohibition of child labor, i.e. the employment of persons under 15 years of age.
3.6.2 — Forced labor
Prohibition of any form of forced or compulsory labor.
3.6.3 — Remuneration
Compliance with remuneration standards in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
3.6.4 — Trade union rights
Respect for workers' rights to freedom of association, assembly and collective bargaining.
3.6.5 — Non-discrimination
Non-discriminatory treatment of all employees, regardless of their personal characteristics.
3.7 — Working time
Compliance with labor standards regarding maximum permitted working hours.

Environment & Civic Engagement
Environmental protection

KBE respects the environmental regulations applicable to its companies and acts in an environmentally responsible manner at all its sites, in accordance with the principles of the Rio Declaration (1992).

Civic engagement

KBE contributes to the social and economic development of the country and region in which it operates, and encourages corresponding voluntary activities of its employees.

KBE makes all reasonable efforts to continuously implement and enforce the principles and values described in the guidelines.
